THE JOURNEY
A path shaped by curiosity, mastery, and a lifelong calling
The story of Niramaya Health didn't begin with a crisis. It began with a question – an early, persistent fascination with how the human mind and body truly work and a conviction that the ancient sciences of yoga and Ayurveda held answers worth a lifetime of study.
THE BEGINNING
An early fascination that never left
From a young age, the founder was drawn to the question of the mind, health, and the body, and how people could live with more positivity, energy, clarity, vitality, and happiness. While peers were indifferent to such things, there was always a keen interest in understanding not just what keeps people well, but why so many people feel quietly unwell despite doing everything "right". Why is there so much unrest, and why do people do things the way they do.
"I was never looking for a career when I started. I wanted to know more about how the mind and body work. I was following these deep questions, I couldn't stop asking."
THE DISCOVERY
Encountering Yoga, Vedanta, and scriptures – recognizing something deep
Early exposure to scriptures through the founder's guru, the teachings about life and its meaning, made him question the things that are normal or common to most of the people, but for him it was a question. A spiritual flower bloomed in the mind of a young child. Interestingly, for him, these teachings felt very easy to grasp and understand. Soon enough, he started reading the Bhagwat Gita, Upanishads, and excerpts from Ramayana at the age when most kids send their awareness outwardly looking for fun.
Formal training – going deep into science
Infatuation and interest in these topics became commitment. Our founder realised that to do something, to bring any impact either on the self or on others, proper learning has to be done. The founder pursued a foundation course from Morarji Desai and a yoga instructor's course from SVYASA University, the only yoga-deemed university. Did proper scripture study from Sivananda Ashram, Rishikesh. Followed by a master's degree in yoga (M.Sc.). This was not a side pursuit but a full immersion. Years of study and practice following classical texts, Sanskrit, chants, and their impact on the mind, anatomy, physiology, philosophy, body movements, correct breathing, and the working of energy channels, all combined to give the proper understanding and depth to this knowledge. But our founder felt that something was still missing. He inclined towards studying Ayurveda. He studied the basics of Ayurveda with Ayurvedic Vaid presidential awardee Dr Krishna Multani from New Delhi. Honing the skills and adding to the deeper knowledge. After his passing at the age of 92 years, he furthered his studies with Dr Madhur Juneja, who is a 3rd generation ayurvedic doctor and the grandson of Dr Krishna Multani's own mentor. Here, the founder learned about the importance of Ayurvedic diagnosis and Nadi Pareksha. For the next year, he learnt and practised to the point that allowed him to give correct readings and analyses of patients, using the power of the pulse.
"The more I studied, the more I understood how much there was still to learn. That feeling has never left."
THE TRAINING
THE PRACTICE
First clients. First transformations.
Knowledge became practice. The first clients came through word of mouth – people seeking a different kind of guidance. more deep, more integrative, more personal. One that looks at the whole life rather than a single symptom. Session by session, a methodology began to crystallise. One that combined the rigour of Ayurvedic science with the movement of yoga and the stability of meditation. The four-pillar system – Body, Breath, Mind, Lifestyle – took its first form here.
NIRAMAYA HEALTH - 2016
Niramaya is founded
An idea was born. "Niramaya" – from Sanskrit, meaning free from disease. The name was chosen with intention. not wellness as a lifestyle product but wellness as a genuine path to freedom from conditions that diminish life. The organisation was founded with a single idea and a single mission: to make the healing wisdom of holistic systems accessible, practical, and clinically credible for the modern world.
"I wanted to build something that worked. Not something general. Not something that felt good in a session, but disappeared the moment someone returned to their real life. Something lasting, something deep."
Today - 2026
1500+ people. The work continues.
Close to a decade and 1500+ clients later, the mission is unchanged – only the scale has grown. Niramaya now serves individuals and organisations globally through virtual delivery. The four-pillar methodology has been refined through thousands of hours of practice, and the results speak for themselves. The work continues – one person, one body, one transformation at a time.
THE PHILOSOPHY
Not wellness as a habit. Wellness as a homecoming.
"The body is not the enemy. Disease is not a failure. Both are messages from a system that knows exactly how to heal – if we learn to listen."
ABHISHEK PAUL
FOUNDER, NIRAMAYA HEALTH
Yoga and Ayurveda understands what modern medicine is only beginning to measure: that human body is not a collection of independent system but a deeply interconnected whole, governed by rhythms, constitutions and relationship between mentality, emotion, attitude, vigor, food, breath, movement and rest.
This is not alternative medicine. It is prior medicine- a complete science that predates the fragmentation of human knowledge into specialisms. The goal of Niramaya Health is not to replace or challenge the modern medicine but to address and add what it does not: the terrain on which the disease grows, and the conditions under which it retreats.
Root cause, not symptoms
The body's wisdom is the teacher
Daily practice over dramatic intervention
Balance over extreme
Ancient Wisdom meets clinical rigour
Every Program begins with understanding why the body is out of balance - not just what symptom is presenting. Treat the terrain, not the weed.
Practitioners guide. The body heals. The role of Niramaya is to remove obstacles and create conditions for the body's innate intelligence to do the work.
Growth, improvement or transformation happens in ordinary - 20 minutes of breath, a meal eaten in silence, a morning stretch without phone or music. Daily small wins adds to exponential growth overt time. Consistency compounds.
The way the body is respected and nurtured is by balance. Balance is restored back following structured method. Extremes in any form be it diet, exercise, sleep or indulgence will later bring undesired lasting changes that the body cannot come back from. Balance nurtures and restores, extreme burns.
The traditions are honored. The outcomes are measured. Niramaya Health sits at the intersection of 5,000 years of holistic science and modern evidence-based practices.

A PERSONAL NOTE
MAY 2026
To anyone reading this
I want to tell you something that doesn't appear in a credential or a program brochure.
I have always drawn to this word " keen observation". I remember clearly in my very young days i would have been 7 or 8 years of age, and my grandmother used to take me to my guru's ashram in New Delhi. I used to listen to the bhajans and prayers and at the end there was a 15 min discourse by our guru. I used to think deeply as to why this teaching has been given, what purpose it serves in me and other, how can I imbibe in myself. And remember I was very young that time. I used to see people deeply, used to see my parents, friends, family members very deeply. Their words, behaviors, their aspirations, their complains , they unmet needs, their desires, i used to see without judgement. I used to see myself deeply as well. Sometimes i used to feel that i can see myself and this body as a second person.
This same keen observation made me ask questions too. Why are we here?, what is my purpose?. The answers to these questions i started finding in teachers, books and satsangs(holy gathering),as superficial places and people could not answer them. I was fascinated about the mind, its working, how it manipulates everything and what can I do to tame it.
I realized that i was not interested in the tycoons of the world. i was more interested in the tycoons of the mind. The rishis who had tamed the mind, like a tamed animal. I wanted this and for that i realized i will have to go deeper and learn more practice more and learn from all the places possible.
